Hola from the best coast!

Hey hey!

I hope everyone is enjoying summer so far.  I was in New Haven for senior week and it was somewhat surreal to see everyone graduate - weird that we are the old ones now. Anyways, I am back home in Los Angeles for my younger sister's high school graduation and to serve as my other sister's minion during her exam week (that means I pretend to remember AP chemistry, quiz her, and tell her that the exam won't be hard...doubtful).
In other news, I finally solidified my summer plans.  Initially I was going to be in New York working for a fashion startup, but my plans have changed (for the third time) and I am going to be in Los Angeles working at United Talent Agency.  I'm glad that indecisive me has finally picked a coast. I'm pretty excited about the program, but apparently stress induced nervous breakdowns are not uncommon in the mailroom and interns can expect verbal abuse and objects flying at their heads almost daily. But the perks sound great.  Fingers crossed that I'll get to see Brad Pitt in the confines of his own home. What some will do to get into the entertainment industry...
I will be back in the city within the next week to hang out for a bit so let me know if you are around and want to meet up.  Let's keep this thing going! I want to hear what the rest of you neophytes are up to these days!!

PICS to go along with email I sent

Hey everyone! I hope you received the email I just sent you from Montenegro - I couldn't get it to go through to you with pictures - again, if you have any ideas for how to compress the files or something, please let me know! For now, here's the pictures I tried attaching:

view from my room of U Montenegro quad - I hear Robert Frost once called it "the most beautiful college courtyard in Montenegro" ;) - err, rather, ;~)))))

An explanation...

Explanation: The reason why my name is DJ Jawzy Slamz on blogger is because I had to create a blog for my Intro to Electronic Music class this semester. No, I will not be changing it, though you are still welcome to call me Jeff.

Currently: I am finished with finals and on a not-so-glorious bus ride back from the Heptagonal Championships for Track and Field at UPenn. Yale did not perform very well at the meet and neither did I. It has been a very long week.

Future Plans: I will be in New Haven this week relaxing and training. I may be racing this weekend at Princeton, I may not. Either way, I will be free to hang out but unable to really drink much. After this weekend, I will finally return to my blessed home in the beautiful Garden State where I will be relaxing for a few days before going to work. All summer, I will be going back and forth between New Haven, New York, and New Jersey. If you happen to be in the tri-state area, let me know and perhaps we can meet up for drinks, dinner, a dip at the shore, who knows?

Keepin' it real,

Angela here

I'll be in New Haven till early July, studying for and taking my MCAT. After that I'm going home to Nigeria for my little sister's graduation from high school, and I'll be staying home for at least three weeks. I'll be back in the States either at the end of July or the beginning of August, depending on my family's plans for the summer, and I'll be staying with my brother just outside DC, in Silver Spring, Maryland. I'm down for concerts, Farmer's Markets, beach trips, movies, whatever - my schedule's pretty flexible. Excited to be done with junior year - just two finals away. Gotta go study, but hopefully I'll see some of you over the summer!

texas > connecticut

Following Michelle's lead - I'm starting my internship at the Yale investments office in the middle of June, but I'll be in India for three weeks and Texas for three weeks before that. It may sound kind of strange, but I'm really excited about staying in New Haven over the summer - all my friends who've done it have had a blast, and I'm looking forward to the concerts on the green/decent weather/Wooster Square farmer's market. My girlfriend's going to be living in the city, though, so I'll probably be there a decent amount over the summer. To everyone else who'll be in the area - we should all definitely meet up. Maybe take up Bob on his offer to go to the island?

woo first post!

As I procrastinate on editing this ridiculous take-home final, I would like to start our blog by hearing (er, reading?) where people plan to be this summer... and if anyone will be around the Have during commencement.

I'll be at Yale at the end of May, and start work in New York at the beginning of June. I'll be an intern at a non-profit called Legal Momentum, which works on projects in public policy and litigation addressing women's rights and issues. I'm super excited to be in the city and, for my first summer, not be taking classes!

I hope we can sporadically see each other before the fall!
